The United States Fire Administration, a component of FEMA and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is pleased to announce the inaugural World Fire Congress, taking place in Washington, DC on 6-8 May 2024. This historic event establishes a global fire service leadership network dedicated to supporting and strengthening the fire service around the world.

The World Fire Congress will gather together, review and discuss available science, and seek solutions to common global challenges including fire risks associated with emerging technologies, climate change driven wildfires, structural fires, and firefighter health and safety. Attendees of the World Fire Congress will use this inaugural event to establish a charter, setting the path for biannual meetings with a different host nation every two years. The ongoing work will ensure that the interests and voices of first responders around the world are heard and addressed in perpetuity.
