FEU calls for greater use of data, artificial intelligence, and innovative technologies to strengthen fire and rescue services. See the statement below and attached.

The seminar on Data-Driven Fire and Rescue Services highlighted how these tools can improve decision-making, increase efficiency and strengthen community resilience. At the same time, we recognize the challenges, such as ensuring data quality, security, ethical considerations, and a fluent integration between varied and diverse systems. To address these challenges, FEU is committed to:

  • Promoting good practice for the use of data in fire and rescue operations.
  • Strengthening collaboration between emergency services, technology providers and researchers to drive innovation on a global scale.
  • Supporting fire and rescue organizations to overcome challenges in adopting digital tools.
  • Providing clear recommendations on how to use data effectively in daily operations.
  • Ensuring robust cybersecurity measures, to protect data integrity, privacy, and safeguarding systems from unauthorised access, recognizing that while AI and data-driven tools offer significant benefits, continued vigilance against cyber threats is essential to secure a safer future.

FEU will continue to lead the way in making fire and rescue services more effective, innovative, and prepared for future challenges.
